Over the last few weeks I have been working with Steve Kroodsma, makeLab’s 2010 Design Fellow on the construction of a digitally fabricated wall, or storefront, for makeLab.  The wall is cut entirely on the CNC and is assembled using no glue, and no fasteners.   The CNC allowed us to design a friction fit joint that can be assembled using a rubber mallet.

2D profile cutting is used to accomplish the structure-to-panel connections while surface milling is used to create contours on the surface of the panels.
